Resweber has over 35 years of experience in business management  –  with more than 20 of those years concentrated in the electronic security industry.

Prior to founding Gulf West Security Network, he served as Chairman & CEO of Pelican Security Network, which he started “from scratch” and eventually grew into 36th largest provider of electronic security services in the entire United States, a multi-million-dollar enterprise serving tens of thousands of customers and ranked in the Top 1% of an industry with more than 14,000 licensed provider nationwide.

In fact, under Resweber’s leadership, Pelican was ranked as the nation’s 9th most productive security company – in terms of number of employees per customers served, an indication of operating efficiency.

In recognition of his contributions to the industry, Resweber was elected by his peers to the Boards of Directors of the Louisiana Life Safety & Security Association (LLSSA), and the Texas Security Alarm Dealers Association (TSADA), and he has also served on the boards of a number of other industry, community and philanthropic organizations.

During this time, Resweber also established a specialty finance company, Pelican Security Funding, which helped small, independent (“mom-and-pop”) alarm dealers start up and remain in business; and which eventually led Resweber to serve as President of Argus Security in Lafayette; Advanced Security Protection in Baton Rouge; Alarm & Security in New Orleans; Bayou Security in Shreveport; Premier Fire & Security in Naples, FL; and CoSecurity Systems in Dallas, TX.

Previously, Resweber served as a Corporate Officer, Consultant and / or Board Member to nearly a dozen NYSE and NASDAQ-listed public companies, in a variety of industries. Resweber has served as Chairman of the Board of Westmark Group Holdings (NASDAQ: WGHI) in Boca Raton, FL, where he completed the company’s reorganization and conversion into a nationwide financial services concern.  As President & CEO of Network Acquisition (NASDAQ: NTWK), a telecommunications concern, Resweber engineered a series of 17 successful mergers and acquisitions, helping to convert the company into the fastest-growing participant in its industry.

As Senior Vice President, Capital Markets for United Companies Financial (NYSE: UC) Resweber was instrumental in developing a capitalization program that helped push UC’s stock from $16 to $132 per share, making it the top growth stock in any industry on any exchange at that time.

Beginning his career in the energy sector, he served as Vice President of Arkla Gas (NYSE: ALG – now NRG / Reliant Energy) in Shreveport, LA; as Vice President of Entex Gas (NYSE: ETX – now CenterPoint Energy) in Houston, TX; and as Manager of Celeron Oil & Gas (NYSE: CEL – now Plains All American Pipeline) in Santa Barbara, CA, which ultimately merged with Goodyear Tire & Rubber to build the nation’s longest pipeline, twice as long as the famous Alaskan Pipeline.

A cum laude graduate of the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, Resweber is active in his community and serves on the Boards of Directors of a number of other companies, trade associations, and charitable endeavors.

Lou and his wife, Michelle, are the parents of three grown children:  Nicole, an aerospace engineer with Boeing at NASA in Houston, TX; Andrew, an officer in the U.S. Army currently stationed at Fort Hood, TX; and William, a senior engineering student at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.

Doug Drysdale

With more than a decade of practical experience in life safety and property protection, Drysdale brings a wealth of knowledge to his role at Gulf West.

Having previously worked closely with Gulf West Founder Lou Resweber in his previous electronic security ventures, Pelican Security Network and Pelican Security Funding, Drysdale was instrumental in helping build the Pelican coalition  from a “start-up” enterprise into the nation’s 36th largest provider of alarm services, with operations extending from Texas and New Mexico to Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.

At Pelican, Drysdale worked in positions of increasing responsibility with the Network’s Alarm & Security and Argus Security operating divisions in New Orleans and Lafayette, LA, respectively.Drysdale began his electronic security career with LSS / Louisiana Special Systems, learning the business “from the ground up” with this respected commercial and residential systems integrator based in Opelousas, LA.

Proudly starting as at the “helper” level, Drysdale quickly rose to a licensed apprentice and, ultimately, to a licensed security professional while working in the areas of design, installation, service, repair and trouble shooting.  At LSS, Drysdale gained proficiency in a wide variety of industry disciplines including security surveillance and monitoring; integrated fire alarm design and installation; automated access control; and medical and emergency call systems.

Building on the knowledge base he built at LSS, and then Pelican, Drysdale went on to assume responsibility as the Louisiana State Licensed Security Qualifier for Co-Liant Solution, headquartered in Buford, GA.  This allowed the Georgia company to conduct in the State of Louisiana while maintaining complete regulatory compliance, and in this manner Drysdale enabled Co-Liant to fulfill its nationwide contractual obligations to a variety of “Fortune 500” companies including Fastenal, Sprint and Wal-Mart Corporation.  During his tenure with Co-Liant, Drydale worked not only in Louisiana, but all across the nation, supervising major design and installation projects from coast-to-coast.

Expanding his expertise and professional accreditation in this field, Drysdale qualified for and was awarded NICET Level Icertification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies for special hazards suppression systems, elevating his experiences into specialized nuclear and industrial applications for fire protection.

Subsequently, Drysdale went on to earn the esteemed NICET Level II certification in fire protection engineering technology.

Skylar Romero

The first-ever employee of Gulf West Security Network, Romero has played a critical role in the development of our independently-branded dealer alliance.

Having worked in the retail alarm business, as an employee of LJR Security Services, Romero has gained practical experience in the security sector.  She has also undertaken formal training as a Level I Certified Alarm Technician, having successfully completed a 22-hour classroom course on the design, installation, maintenance, service and repair of electronic life safety and security systems.

Romero received her alarm industry education under the auspices of the National Training School (NTS), as offered by the Louisiana Life Safety & Security Association (LLSSA), the state chartered member of the nationwide Electronic Security Association (ESA), formerly known as the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA).

Prior to joining Gulf West, Romero gained experience in a wide range of commercial business activities, where she demonstrated a particular proficiency for computer hardware and software applications.

While working in the health sciences industry, and before that in the retail sector, Romero exemplified a specific aptitude for multi-tasking, as she took on various roles of increasing responsibility in areas such as procurement and inventory control, retail and wholesale client database management, and on-site and telephonic customer service.

A native of Broussard, LA, she majored in healthcare management, with a focus on accounting, while earning her degree from Louisiana State University in Eunice, LA.

While at LSU-E, Romero was instrumental in helping establish the local chapter of the Gamma Gamma National Accounting Society, and as a result she was subsequently twice elected by her peers as President of the organization for two consecutive terms.
